Grandmaster Nayul felt an increasing unease coming from somewhere in the Empyrean Citadel, an unease he's felt ever since he went back to the monastery. Although Nayul's sightless eyes cannot peer into so black a veil to know what manner of evil, he does know one thing for sure: the citadel is once again besieged by the forces of evil.

The once peaceful Empyrean Citadel has been corrupted by Prince Sobu’s dark chi. Driven mad by those who wronged the prince, the Empyrean Citadel has been warped and resurrected with Sobu’s internal ire as twisted magic turned it into a nightmarish realm of necromancy where the dead have risen and the ghosts of the past seek salvation.
